You can make a generator based on a three-phase asynchronous AC motor. Moreover, its performance will be sufficient to power various undemanding household appliances. To rotate such a homemade generator, you can use wind, a water wheel, or an internal combustion engine.

Materials:

  • Three-phase asynchronous motor;
  • rectangular neodymium magnets -
  • epoxy adhesive;
  • enameled copper wire.

The process of manufacturing a generator from an asynchronous electric motor

In order for the engine to start working as an electric current generator, it must be disassembled and rebuilt. In particular, the rotor needs improvement. It must be equipped with powerful neodymium magnets. To do this, the rotor is milled with longitudinal grooves.

Then neodymium magnets are fixed into them. The polarity of the latter should alternate between rows. The magnets are glued with epoxy glue.

To increase the power of the generator, you can also modify the stator. It needs a new winding made of thicker wire. It is made with more turns than it was originally.

Please note that the rotor must fit into the stator with a minimum gap. The smaller the distance between them, the better the generator will work.

Thus, when the generator shaft rotates with a sufficient number of revolutions, we obtain alternating voltage for the operation of various undemanding devices such as lamps, heaters, etc. If you connect the generator voltage regulator, then you can power anything through it.
