You will have to pay a tidy sum for roller blinds in the store, and it remains to be seen whether they will fit the interior and the size of the window sash. They can be made from quite affordable materials, varying sizes and colors, at a minimum of cost.

Will need

Materials:

  • polypropylene pipe and fittings;
  • simple table oilcloth;
  • cyanoacrylate glue;
  • double-sided and paper tape;
  • cable channel;
  • closed cord.

Tools: plastic scissors, a piece of plinth, clamps, a knife, a bolt with a nut, blue electrical tape, a drill, a triangular file, a soldering iron for plastic.

The process of manufacturing budget roller blinds from available materials

We cut a piece 615 mm long from the polypropylene pipe. Using a plinth, draw a straight line on the side surface of the pipe blank. We measure 42.5 mm from one edge of the pipe and put a mark. Align the edge of the tablecloth with this mark and mark the second edge of the tablecloth at the other end of the pipe.

We lay the pipe crosswise on the tablecloth, and press the ends of the pipe to the tabletop with two clamps.Apply a strip of cyanoacrylate glue to the surface of the pipe along the previously drawn line and press the transverse edge of the tablecloth against the pipe along its entire length exactly along the drawn straight line.

We wrap the tablecloth around the pipe, avoiding distortion.

Since the holes in the clips turned out to be slightly larger than the diameter of the pipe, we reduce the gaps between them by winding construction tape around the pipe.

Using electrical tape, secure one polypropylene plug firmly to the bolt and nut.

We fix the bolt rod in the drill chuck, turn on the tool and, using a triangular file, make a circular notch on the surface of the plug.

Having installed the clips on the pipe, using a soldering iron for polymer materials, we solder plugs to the ends of the pipe, onto the bases of which we glue double-sided tape.

The lower edge of the tablecloth, maintaining parallelism, is placed inside the cable channel, having first removed the bar. Then we pinch the edge of the tablecloth inside the cable channel with the bar when returning it to its place.

We install our homemade roller blinds on the window sash in the upper part, pressing the bases of the clips with double-sided tape to the sash frame.

To raise and lower the roller blind, we put a closed cord over the plug with a ring groove, securing it at the bottom with some tension with another clip.

By pulling down one or the other branch of the cord, we will raise or lower the roller blind.
