Black currants without sugar, prepared for the winter, are a tasty and healthy delicacy. From whole berries you can make jelly, compote, add to porridge, or prepare filling for dumplings and pies. It is better to add grated currants to tea or make a fruit drink. When harvesting, it is necessary to calculate portions for single use so as not to re-freeze the berries.
Ingredients
For the recipe you will need:
- black currants (fresh) - in any quantity.
- disposable plastic containers with a volume of 200-250 ml.
- plastic bags or freezer bags.
Methods for harvesting blackcurrants for the winter with photos:
1. First, prepare the currants. We sort through the berries, leaving only whole, undamaged fruits, removing extraneous debris and tearing off the stalks.
2. Rinse the currants through a medium sieve under running water and allow excess water to drain.
3. Place the berries on a dry paper or cloth towel and dry them.
4. The first method of preparation: pour a portion of berries into a dry container without compacting them, close them tightly with a lid and send them to the freezing chamber. Large, not overripe fruits are better suited for this method.
5.The second method of freezing: place the washed and dried berries in a freezer bag, seal them tightly and also put them in the freezer. For this method we also take whole berries with thick skin.
6. For the third freezing method, place clean berries in a blender.
7. Grind it at low speed to a homogeneous consistency.
8. Distribute the resulting berry mass in small portions into disposable containers and put them in the freezer.
