The problem of ridding private houses, country houses and utility rooms of rodents worries almost every owner. This struggle is not easy, constant and proceeds with varying success. There are different ways to treat mice and rats. One of them is repelling with an unpleasant and pungent odor. The fact is that mice have an exceptionally subtle sense of smell and easily find food. When it is clogged with a powerful, constantly acting total smell, interrupting not so strong food aromas, then they begin to starve and go to other places in search of food.

What do you need?

We will need water, tar soap and a bottle of iodine tincture. Separate 1/4 of the tar soap from the whole piece and place it in a liter jar. Pour boiling water into a container with tar soap, and to make the soap dissolve faster and completely, vigorously stir the contents of the jar with a tablespoon.

Preparing a repellent composition for mice

After the soap is completely dissolved in water, add iodine tincture to the soap solution in the amount of about a quarter of a 50 ml bottle. Tincture of iodine, when mixed with an aqueous solution of tar soap, forms an incredibly pungent and very unpleasant odor.It is this that repels mice, since although they have a delicate sense of smell, they nevertheless lose the ability to find food with its help, since not very strong food odors are blocked by the total odor emanating from the solution of tar soap and iodine tincture.

Next, pour the resulting odorous liquid into places where mice are likely to appear. This pungent odor will last for at least one week. After which, for reliability, the procedure should be repeated.

To enhance the repelling effect and extend it over time, it is better to soak some unnecessary old rags, worn-out socks, gloves, etc. with our negative-smelling liquid, and also place them in the habitats, movements and nesting of rodents.
