White window sills look very beautiful and add more light to the room. But everyone knows how difficult it is to wash them, especially if there are potted flowers on the surface. How can you easily clean a white window sill from dirt, dust, smudges, yellow spots, traces of pots, glue and other contaminants? We offer two simple, easy and budget methods. Let's compare the results after using folk and purchased remedies.

Method number 1. Soap and toothpaste

We will need:

  • laundry soap;
  • toothpaste;
  • water;
  • glass or bowl;
  • sponge for washing dishes.

You can use both bar and liquid soap, but be sure to use laundry soap. The quality of the toothpaste also does not matter; it is better to use the cheapest one.

Grate the bar soap on a fine grater. Pour into a small container (glass or bowl), add warm water and stir.

We use the liquid immediately. Pour it onto the contaminated area, add a drop of toothpaste and mix, turning the two substances into a homogeneous paste.

Distribute evenly over the windowsill, wetting more heavily dirty areas. Leave the mixture for 10 minutes.

Method 2. Chemical agent

We will need:

  • any cleaning product;
  • sponge or rags;
  • latex gloves.

In our case, we use the cheap Sanox Ultra product. Apply to the windowsill, paying special attention to heavily soiled areas.

Leave for 10-15 minutes.

For example, you can apply a folk remedy to one half of the window sill, and a chemical one to the other, and draw your own conclusions after cleaning.

Results

We begin to clean the surface. It is better to rub very dirty places with the hard side of the sponge, and the rest with soft foam rubber or cotton rags.

To be honest, the solution with soap and toothpaste cleans the white window sill much better. Without much effort. Of course, you can use expensive chemicals, but is there any point in this? If there is a much cheaper and faster option.

If the window sill is very dirty, leave the product on longer. The more the surface is exposed to cleaning agents, the less effort will be required to clean.

Ideally clean, almost new in appearance, the window sill is ready. Be sure to use this method and let your windows shine with freshness.
