Repairing a through hole in plastic

We place a piece of adhesive aluminum foil on the front side of the perforation, and fill the defect with liquid plastic on the back side, melting part of the plastic clamp.

If necessary, warm up and level the plastic with the blade of a stationery knife.

Repairing a crack in a plastic product with your own hands

To seal a through crack, use a nail bent at 90 degrees and fixed in a soldering iron.

We divide the tension spring into split rings, lay them along the length of the crack on the back side and solder them into the plastic with a heated nail head.

We apply liquid plastic to the rings, melting the plastic clamp.

Soldering plastic with a homemade soldering iron attachment

You can also repair a crack in the plastic with a piece of brass pipe.

To do this, we clean the cut with a file, grind it with sandpaper, and round the end of the tube, flattened between the jaws of the vice, with a file and sand it with sandpaper.

We put the tube on the soldering iron tip and crimp it with side cutters.

We glue aluminum foil onto the crack in the plastic on the front side.

We clean the back side of the crack with sandpaper and use a heated copper tube to create a series of transverse molten strips, which we fill with liquid plastic, melting the plastic clamp. Remove the aluminum foil and the crack is securely sealed.

A crack in the plastic can be repaired by placing short pieces of stranded copper wire with the insulation removed across the defect from the back side. All that remains is to solder them into the plastic using the head of a heated nail.

A crack in plastic can also be reinforced with a paper clip, soldering it using a heated nail head.
