Craftswomen manage to felt everything from unspun wool: souvenirs, toys, fabrics, felt boots, slippers, elements of costume jewelry and much more. Today I want to tell you about how you can make a beautiful, useful and original “Washcloth Soap”. In order to begin the manufacturing process, you need to prepare the necessary materials and tools:
  • unspun wool of different colors;
  • a piece of soap;
  • felting needle;
  • hot water;
  • liquid soap;
  • film with pimples.
  • towel or napkins.

Then we begin to lay pieces of unspun wool on top.

You can do this in different colors to make the washcloth more fun and interesting. So we lay out the first layer horizontally, the second vertically and alternate. We lay out about 4 layers, then turn the soap with wool over and begin laying it on the other side in the same way. We also lay out approximately 4 rows.

After this, we take a piece of soap in our hands and shape the wool into a soap shape. Those. we bend the ends of the wool, forming one continuous whole soap in the shell.
After this, we take a felting needle and begin to gently poke the wool, but so as not to touch the soap.

Thus, we pile the volume of wool and interlock the fibers with each other. Once the wool has settled and adhered a little, you can begin rolling the soap. To do this, tear off a piece of wool and wrap it around the soap. We do this carefully. So we wind several layers.

Then we take the felting needle again and begin to felt the wool. After the wool has decreased in volume, we move on to wet felting. Fill a bowl with hot water and add a little liquid soap. Hot water helps soften the wool, and soap increases the adhesion of the fibers. Then we take our soap, sprinkle a little hot soapy water and begin to gradually roll it in our hands, as if crushing the wool.

Roll the soap until the wool shrinks a little.

Because Under the influence of water, the soap itself will lather and create soap foam, then excess water or soap can be removed with a towel or napkins. You can also rinse the soap frequently under running hot water.

We felt the soap until the wool tightly covered the soap and the top layer of wool was well adhered to the other layers. We get this soap.

Let it dry and our soap is ready to use. Also, you can first felt patterns, flowers, letters from wool and, during the felting process, roll them onto soap, thereby creating a unique masterpiece. This soap will be an original gift for family and friends, and washing with this washcloth will be pleasant and comfortable.
