• two socks. I specially bought terry inside products from the hosiery industry for this toy;
• scissors;
• threads, needle;
• padding polyester or other filler;
• thick rope 0.5 m;
• red yarn 10 cm;
• ruler, chalk.
Operating procedure.
1. Mark the cutting lines on the toes. One of them will be the torso, head and legs. We cut it in half lengthwise from the elastic to the heel.
2. Place the second sock on its side and first mark and cut off the toe. He will become a monkey face. Then we draw along the entire sock and cut off a long thin tail. We cut the remaining boot from the elastic to the heel lengthwise and get two blanks for the arms. From the remaining foot from toe to heel we cut out two ears.
3. Now we need to sew all the parts so that our monkey is terry, that is, on the front side. When sewing the legs, leave the butt unstitched. Through this hole you will turn the product inside out. When sewing the paws and tail, leave the end at the elastic, and when sewing the ears along the top and side, do not sew the bottom.
4. Turn out the parts. At this stage of work, the most difficult operation is turning out the thin tail. Don't worry that the monkey is small. The knitwear stretches, and after stuffing the filler inside, our monkey will turn into an orangutan.
5. We fill the insides of the parts with filler. For the tail, you can use regular rope or thick twine. We pin it on a large pin and, passing it through the tail, insert it, as we used to insert an elastic band into panties.
6. Sew up all the holes and sew on the muzzle, tucking the edge of the sock inward. It is better to baste it at two points: top and bottom, and then apply a hidden seam. This makes it easier to maintain symmetry. If the proportions don't work out very well, that's okay. We are sewing a monkey with its “antics and jumps,” and not a Barbie doll.
7. We fasten the ears in place, first pulling them a little at the open edge.
8. Sew on the arms, focusing on the location of the nose and at the same distance from the ears. Attach the tail.
9. Making eyes. To do this, sew on two black buttons. The mouth was made of red wool yarn, carefully basted with matching thread. In order for our beauty to finally acquire a “human” appearance, we will tie a bow made of satin ribbon around her neck.
