So, in order to make a cute decorative pillow in the shape of a rose with our own hands, we will need the following:
-Not large scraps of fabric (you can use absolutely any fabric), harmoniously combined in color.
-Pattern paper, pencil and scissors.
-Naturally, needle and thread matched to the color of the flaps.
-Sintepon or any substitute for filling the pillow.
-A little imagination and free time.
First of all, we take paper for the pattern, make sketches of different sizes with a pencil - these are the future rose petals. We will need 5 - 6 patterns of different sizes. Let's cut them out.
Fold each flap in half, wrong side up, and trace the pattern with a pencil. We cut out the part along the intended contour, do not forget to leave seam allowance.Thus, we get 2 halves of one petal at once. We will need about 5 petals for the first smallest pattern, 5 petals for the second largest pattern, 3 petals for the third pattern, 6 petals for the fourth pattern and 5 for the fifth. I would recommend not cutting out all the details at once, since everyone has their own eye, and you may need some larger or smaller petals than I indicated. As you assemble the pillow into a single whole, you will decide for yourself by the number and size of the petals, as well as the color combination.
We sew along the rounded edge, turn our workpiece inside out and lightly stuff our petal with padding polyester or any other filler. Fold and carefully sew the remaining edge. We do this with all the available parts.
We begin to manually collect the petals into a pad. Let's start with the smallest ones - this is the future core of the flower. We sew the blanks at the base of the petal, distributing them in a chaotic order (where there are voids, we put the petal there). Petals that are slightly larger in size need to be slightly “hushed” in the center and an undercut should be made. This way we will force the leaf to look up and keep the shape of a bud.
We continue to sew the petals, moving from small to large. In the last two rows you don’t have to make an undercut, since we need a pillow with a stable base, but if you are making a large product, then you need to be guided by the situation. If it's asked, then do it.
That's all! The pillow is ready! It can be decorated with beads, decorative stones, or left as is. It turns out quite nice, and most importantly exclusive!
