Cosmetic clay is a popular and inexpensive product for skin and hair care, known since ancient times. This natural remedy contains a huge amount of microelements beneficial for the body (iron, copper, zinc, calcium, potassium, nitrogen, silver, magnesium).
The main advantage of cosmetic clay is its availability, because it can be bought at any pharmacy, paying mere pennies. What types of cosmetic clay are there?

The following types of clay are used in cosmetology:
- white,
- green,
- pink,
- yellow,
- blue,
- black,

How do these subspecies differ from each other? For example, white clay can dry out the skin, tighten pores, and whiten it a little. This type of cosmetic product also has bactericidal properties.

Blue clay is widely used not only for cosmetic purposes, but also for medical purposes. Even in ancient times, it was used to treat ulcers, tuberculosis, and metabolic disorders. Just like white, blue clay is ideal for oily and porous skin, it prevents the appearance of acne, reduces expression lines, and lightens age spots.Green clay, which contains iron, silver and zinc, has the same properties.

Red clay has this shade due to the presence of copper and iron oxide in its composition. It is able to relieve skin irritation, eliminate itching and flaking. Thanks to red clay masks, skin cells are saturated with oxygen molecules.

When blue and red types of clay are combined, pink is formed, which is suitable for any skin type. This type of cosmetic product cleanses and moisturizes the skin well.

Black clay contains a large amount of quartz. It can quickly remove toxins from tissues and help with allergic reactions.

How to make a mask from cosmetic clay?

Before carrying out the procedure, thoroughly cleanse your face. In some cases, it is recommended to steam the skin. Therefore, it is ideal to apply a clay mask after a bath.

To prepare the clay mass, you must use plastic, glass or ceramic dishes. For a face mask, a couple of tablespoons of dry powder is enough. Add a little clean and cool water to the powder, mix the mass thoroughly, leaving no lumps.

You can add a couple of drops of some essential oil to the mask, which will make the procedure even more beneficial, or lemon juice. Instead of water, the powder can be diluted with milk, mineral water, tea or herbal decoction.

The finished mass is applied in a thick layer only to cleansed and dry skin. You should not put clay on your eyelids and under your eyes, as the skin in these places is very sensitive, because there are no sebaceous glands there.

The time the mask remains on your face depends on what skin type you have. If you have a dry type, you need to wash off the clay after 5-10 minutes. Those with oily skin can wear a clay mask for up to 20 minutes.

Before washing the clay off your skin, lightly spray your face with water. After the mask has soaked, rinse off the clay with cool water. After washing your face, apply a moisturizer that will prevent your skin from becoming dehydrated.

I have been using white clay from the pharmacy for several years now, the effect is amazing. But I’ve never added oil, I’ll have to try it. Thanks for the tip.
