To sew a felt horseshoe we will need:
• felt – for the horseshoe and bows (two different colors);
• bindweed – 12-14 cm;
• padding polyester (can be replaced with cotton wool).
Using a compass, draw a circle with a diameter of 7 cm.
To the top line of the circle we draw a second circle, which should be two times smaller than the first (the second circle will be equal to the diameter of 3.5 cm).
From the bottom line of the circle we measure upward 10 cm - this will be the height of our horseshoe. We draw a horizontal line and measure 1.5 cm to the sides from the middle of the line, then another 1.5 cm from the measured points.
Next, you need to connect the contours of the circle with the points that were measured from the middle of the horizontal top line to the sides.
We cut out the drawn horseshoe along the contours. The result is a pattern.
We place the pattern on the felt and attach it with tape in order to cut it evenly (instead, you can use pins to pin the pattern with the fabric). Cut out two parts.
We will also need three small pieces of felt for sewing bows and a small piece of bindweed. We cut out rectangles of felt 4 by 2 cm. We prepare a piece of bindweed; instead, you can take another beautiful ribbon.
We make bows. In the middle of the rectangle we make several stitches with a needle and tighten it with thread. Wrap the thread around the bow and tie a knot.
We connect the two halves of the horseshoe together and sew them together along the perimeter, without sewing up the upper edges. We sew with a straight machine stitch, stitch length 2 mm.
We fill our horseshoe with padding polyester through the unsewn edges. You can stuff with a thick knitting needle or another wooden stick.
Sew on the bows.
We insert the bindweed ribbon into the unsewn holes and sew them up using a sewing machine, making fastenings.
The horseshoe is ready. This souvenir will decorate any Christmas tree and is suitable as a handmade souvenir gift for the holiday.
