First of all, it is necessary to prepare bright and dense fabrics that will not fray or unravel when cut (this is velor, velvet, drape, felt). 5 color options are enough, where the main ones are red (you can also use pink or burgundy) for the comb and yellow to cover the body of the bird. The remaining fabrics are needed only for additional decoration. We also include two beads (chicken eyes) and a small artificial flower. You can glue the parts with any universal contact glue.
Selecting a base and creating a template is the next stage of preparation.
Cardboard can also serve as a rigid base, but drawing a sketch of a chicken without a “cheat sheet” is very problematic. Therefore, use a ready-made drawing (this will help save time for more productive work).
Now that everything is ready, it's time to outline the outline of the image on the cardboard and carefully cut it out.
The lines that are dotted in the figure on the cardboard blank are the folding points.
And one of the sides of the side triangles located on the bottom is also a cut line. That is, you need to cut every line adjacent to the body so that when folded, the two parts of the tail and head are tightly connected.
If everything turned out correctly and the parts fit evenly, apply glue to the connecting triangles and glue them on the lower border of the body. After this, glue the tail and head together.
Then cover both sides of the chicken with yellow cloth. To do this, cut out a large paper sketch and secure it to the fabric with pins.
The soft silhouette should be the same size as the paper one, because there is no need to fold the edges or subsequently process them.
Attention! Always do all paired parts in a mirror projection.
Now grease the flat surface of the still untreated chicken with glue and attach the fabric (on both sides).
Break the template into small parts and draw the feathers separately.
First glue the red head, and on top of it the colorful plumage of the neck. For the tail, it would be better to make feathers of different colors and sizes.
Finally, the final stage is beady eyes and a decorative flower.
