You always want to capture bright moments of childhood as a memory, but the child himself is rarely distracted from his activities to look into the camera lens. And a decoy toy, which is easy to make yourself, can serve as a creative solution.
We will need: a sewing machine, felt in attractive colors, matching threads and a needle, agrotex, eyes, moment glue, scissors. To make the toy fold compactly, you will need a piece of hat elastic and a button.
1. A little about the sketch
The lens cover is the only measuring detail around which the sketch is built. But you should pay attention to the top of the toy, which should not cover the flash, so the head of the lure will be no more than 3 cm high.
2. Fabric selection
The easiest way to sew a toy on a lens is from felt, because this material allows you to avoid processing the edges, it is dense enough to hold its shape and is very varied in color. Additional compaction of the toy is done using agrotex.
3. Sewing technology
a) Tassels are made for the ears: the thread is wound around three fingers in 20 layers and tied in the middle. The ends are cut from the outside.
b) A similar part made of agrotex is applied to the back part of the base (pink). Tassels are sewn onto the ears at the base with a straight stitch and reverse. The top thread matches the front fabric (brown), the bottom thread matches the back of the toy (pink).
c) The details of the legs and wings are decorated.
d) Paws are placed on the compacted base piece with tassels, which are covered with a brown piece. The resulting sandwich is sewn along the outer and inner contours in a zigzag. In order for the toy to be folded in the future, cross-shaped fold lines are outlined, which are stitched with a straight stitch on a machine. To secure the folded toy, a loop of hat elastic is sewn in. All threads are tied in a knot and the ends are hidden in the toy.
e) The owl's face is shaped: the eyebrows and beak are sewn on by hand. Felt eyebrows can be cut and fluffed.
f) Next, the wings are attached in a zigzag, but the top thread changes to green. When all the machine seams are stitched, the eyes are glued on.
f) The toy is folded in the most appropriate way along the fold lines and the place for the button is determined. In our case, from the back of the toy.
So, a cheerful lure that will certainly attract the baby’s attention, significantly improving the quality of children’s photographs, is ready!
