In the modern world, people are increasingly wondering what to do and how to improve the space of a balcony or loggia. Do not use it as a warehouse for storing long-forgotten and unnecessary things. By throwing away everything unnecessary and carefully cleaning the entire space of the balcony, in the freed area, you can really recreate any idea and fantasy. Create a cozy resting place, playroom or sports corner. If it is not possible to invite craftsmen to carry out renovation work and create a functional space, this type of work can be done independently. You just need to decide on the choice of materials and the stages of the repair.
First of all, the balcony needs external insulation. Styrofoam is ideal for this.

The wall surface is prepared and the old plaster is removed. This must be done before the concrete base. Due attention is paid to priming the surface. For these purposes, a deep penetration primer is well suited; when it dries, we glue foam sheets to the base using an adhesive solution for this type of work. Having installed a shelf from a corner along the lower edge of the wall, for an even first layer, we proceed to gluing the foam.Work must be carried out from the bottom up until the required insulation area is completely covered.

Let's start the interior finishing work. When choosing plastic panels as a ceiling covering, the first step is to create a frame on the ceiling from wooden slats 2-3 centimeters thick. This will save space and there will be no effect of the ceiling hanging over your head. The slats are mounted at a distance of 35 - 40 centimeters relative to each other.

Installation begins across the rails. The panel is cut 3 to 4 centimeters smaller relative to the width of the balcony. A small hacksaw is used; after cutting, the edges are cleaned with sandpaper. Starting from the edge of the wall, we nail the first panel to each batten with small nails or fasten it with self-tapping screws.
Once the installation of the ceiling is complete, we proceed to the second stage of finishing.
We make the floor from plywood for subsequent linoleum flooring. The first step is to level the floor. This can be done using a concrete screed. When completely dry, the floor surface is thoroughly swept and hydro-thermal insulation is laid over the base. Plywood 2-3 centimeters thick is cut into squares of no more than 50 centimeters. It is laid in a herringbone pattern from the edge of the wall, maintaining a distance of two to three centimeters from its surface. Having laid out all the pieces on the floor and numbered them, we remove them and then begin to install the floor. The plywood is attached with bustylate-based glue. After drying, cover the floor with film or newspapers to avoid contamination during further work.

If lining is chosen as the material for covering the walls of the balcony, it is necessary to create a frame on which it will be attached. To do this, sheathing is done using wooden blocks. They are mounted around the perimeter of the balcony at a distance of 50 - 55 centimeters from each other

. The surface on which the lining will be installed must be perfectly flat, which will extend its service life and create a high-quality appearance. A good option would be to choose wooden lining. Linden is considered one of the best wood species for these purposes, but pine trees also have their advantages. They are resistant to temperature changes and wear. When attaching the lining to nails, work must begin from any angle. It is cut two to three centimeters smaller, both from the base of the ceiling and from the base of the floor.

Upon completion of the work, linoleum is laid, also with indentations along the perimeter of the walls of several centimeters. The gap between the clapboard walls and the ceiling is hidden with ceiling skirting boards.

A good option for covering a balcony. I like the smell of wood, and the material is environmentally friendly. I would also be inclined to cover the balcony with clapboard, which is better than siding or drywall.
