It is these textured flowerpots that are valued in fashionable Scandinavian interiors. But if your aesthetic perception differs from the descendants of the Vikings, and the old pot does not make you want to decorate the windowsill, then this master class will show you how to turn it into a stylish piece of furniture.

Let's move on to the most crucial moment. Now we need to determine how many and how wide the stripes will be on the pots, so we measure the circumference of the pot and divide it by the required number of strips. We mark with a pencil the places of their future location and seal every second strip with masking tape. This will help make them smoother.

Apply one-component craquelure varnish and set the pots aside for a couple of hours.

Mix white and purple paint to obtain a delicate pastel shade. Lightly touching the pot, check whether the craquelure varnish has dried. If your finger barely sticks to the surface, you can apply colored paint. The brush should only be moved in one direction, and note that the thicker the layer, the larger the cracks.

Remove the masking tape and cover the entire surface of the plant pot with spray varnish. It is not recommended to use a brush or varnish from a can to avoid damaging the crackle effect.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the interesting article. I have old ceramic flowerpots and the paint is peeling off on them. I want to repaint them, but how do I remove the old paint? One sandpaper? Or are there any solvents for this? Please tell me.
