Moreover, it does not matter for what medium the pipeline is intended: for water, gas, wastewater or for other purposes, as well as their diameter: it can be small, medium or very large.
To work in this case, you will only need plastic pipes, couplings, a tube of special glue and initial skills in handling products made from this material.
Connecting plastic pipes using couplings
The work is performed in the following sequence:
1. The ends of the pipes to be connected are cut perpendicular to the axis of the product, and a small chamfer is removed from them so that during final assembly the ends of the pipes do not scrape off the applied glue from the inner wall of the coupling.
2. The pipes to be connected are inserted into the coupling from both sides until their ends touch approximately in the middle of the connecting piece, and marks are placed on them indicating the depth of the pipe entry into the coupling.
3.The surface of the pipes from end to mark is covered with a special glue, which also has sealing properties. It is also necessary to lubricate the inner surface of the coupling.
4. Then the pipes coated with glue are reinserted into the coupling until they stop against each other and are turned in opposite directions by 90 degrees for a more uniform distribution of the adhesive composition over the surfaces being connected.
5. The assembly assembled with glue must be left alone for the time specified in the instructions for using the adhesive. Usually it is 10-15 minutes. It is better to use the pipeline 24 hours after completion of the connection work.
Connecting plastic pipes without couplings
In this case, it is necessary to make a socket on one of the pipes being connected, using a hair dryer (heat gun) to soften the plastic and a second pipe to form an expansion.
The process is performed in the following order:
1. Using a hair dryer, the end part of one of the pipes being connected is uniformly heated to a length approximately approximately the diameter of the pipe. In this case, it is necessary to periodically monitor the degree of softening of the plastic so that, on the one hand, it is not hard, and on the other, it does not melt or flow.
2. When optimal plasticity is achieved, continuing to maintain this state with a heat gun, the second pipe is inserted into the first and by rotating at an angle and longitudinal movement mainly inside the heated pipe, a socket is formed. When the socket length reaches approximately the diameter of the pipe, the heat gun can be turned off.
3.While the heated pipe has not yet cooled down, by rotating the second pipe in one direction or the other and applying longitudinal force mainly inward, it is necessary to continue forming the socket until the plastic has completely cooled.
4. Then, the pipe forming the socket is pulled out. Its inlet section and the inner surface of the bell are degreased, lubricated with sealing glue and reassembled.
Such a permanent connection, if it is made with high quality, especially in terms of maintaining the heating temperature regime, is in no way inferior to connecting pipes using special couplings.
