What do we need
To clean the mattress you will need very few elements, and all of them are improvised:
- baking soda,
- a sieve (a salt shaker for sugar or salt - it will be even better),
- vacuum cleaner.
Removing dust
If you are using a sieve, pour baking soda into the sieve and use the sieve to spray it all over the mattress. Your goal is to remove dust, so it's okay if you spill too much baking soda on a certain area. The more dirty areas of the mattress require more sodium bicarbonate.
If you use a salt shaker, the process is similar - also spray soda over the entire surface.
Using a vacuum cleaner
After you have sprinkled the baking soda, leave the mattress untouched for several hours, or even better, for the whole day - and the baking soda will do its job. It will draw out all the dirt and odors from the fabric and absorb them without harming the fabric itself.
Next, you should vacuum the mattress very carefully to remove soda from all its crevices.Otherwise, the grains of sodium bicarbonate will keep you from sleeping comfortably at night.
Result
Hooray! Your mattress is clean again!
And if there are still small stains on it, just repeat the procedure again. It may not be possible to get rid of particularly difficult stains without dry cleaning. However, this method is excellent for superficial cleaning of the mattress without the use of chemicals. Use it as often as possible.
Clean your mattress as soon as it gets dirty to prevent severe stains. This procedure can also be repeated with any upholstered furniture - sofas, armchairs and chairs.
