Basic materials:

- 3 blades for mounting knife.
Making a slicer
To assemble the vegetable slicer mechanism, you will need bicycle or motorcycle sprockets.
They need to be washed and fixed on plates cut out of stainless steel. Holes are drilled in the center of the pads to weld shafts into them for rotation.
A vegetable feeding hopper is made from a stainless pipe. One end is cut at 90 degrees, and the other at 45 degrees.
To make a disk for slicing vegetables, a circle is cut out of stainless steel.
You need to cut 3 windows in it through which the vegetable rings will fall out.
Next, L-shaped linings are welded onto the windows. The cutting cross-section of vegetable rings depends on their thickness. The blades from the mounting knife are pressed against the linings with screws.
The body of the slicer is welded from a square pipe. It is shaped like a children's stool. It should be made as compact as possible.
A large sprocket with a shaft is fixed to the machine frame through 2 eyes with pressed bearings.
A comfortable handle is welded to it, like a manual meat grinder.
The small sprocket is placed close to the large one, and is welded to the table through a tube with pressed bearings.
A working disk with blades is bolted into the free shaft of a small sprocket. To do this, you will need to cut a thread on it.
The vegetable feeding hopper is welded to the table crossbar. It is necessary that it comes almost close to the disk with the blades, but at the same time they do not touch. The hopper will be subject to shock loads, so it should be reinforced with additional support.
By throwing vegetables into the slicer and rotating it like a meat grinder, you can quickly chop into rings. The machine is suitable for cutting onions, garlic, potatoes, carrots, etc. When the knives become dull, you just need to change the blades. If you use only stainless steel during assembly, then the slicer does not require any complicated maintenance at all, except for washing.
