What you will need
To perform the procedure you need to prepare:
- used aerosol can;
- two new plastic syringes;
- a piece of elastic tube (1 cm will be enough for work);
- glass or other similar container;
- solvent (or any other liquid).
Among the tools, a knife may be useful, with which you can adjust the length of the tube (if necessary).
Procedure
The first stage is liquid injection
Before you start refueling, you must completely bleed any remaining air and liquid from the cylinder. After this you need to do the following:
Cut a piece of tube no more than 1 cm long and put it on the needle cone of the syringe.
Pour the solvent into the glass. We draw it into a syringe.We put the free end of the tube on the stem of the cylinder, press and release the solvent into the container.
We repeat this procedure until the balloon is filled. After the container is filled, it must be turned over and the air vented by actuating the valve stem.
After this, the container should be placed in the freezer and left there for 20-30 minutes. The solvent does not freeze, but upon cooling it noticeably decreases in volume. This will free up space in the cylinder for pumping air.
Second stage - air filling
Remove the cooled container from the freezer. We pump air using a second syringe. This is done because the solvent attacks the rubber seal and makes it difficult to move. Procedure:
We put the adapter tube on the needle cone of the syringe and on the cylinder rod. Pump a portion of air into the container.
We repeat the procedure until, when pressing on the rod from the inside, liquid comes out under pressure.
You can use the aerosol after the liquid has warmed to room temperature.
Useful tips
For maximum effectiveness of the procedure, it is necessary to perform it as quickly as possible after removing the container from the freezer.
The length of the adapter tube must be selected so that there is room to press on the rod.
The solvent has a pungent odor, so work should be done in a ventilated area.
