When working in a workshop or garage, many tasks have to be done while sitting. To do this, you can make a light pouf from a plastic bottle. Its advantage over a regular stool is the presence of a storage compartment, which will allow you to keep various necessary little things at hand.

Materials:

It is necessary to cut off the neck of the bottle. It has fairly thick walls, so it is most convenient to do this with a grinder.

Then you need to cut a small strip of plastic from the neck so that when you turn it over, it can fit tightly inside the main part of the bottle and not stick out. After trimming, all sharp edges are sanded with emery cloth.

Next, you need to cut a round insert from plywood into the part from the neck of the bottle. To do this, it is outlined with a marker and cut out with a jigsaw. This will be the base of the seat. Its edges also need to be processed. The most convenient way to do this is with a milling cutter, but you can also simply do it by hand or with sandpaper.

The soft lining for the pouf is cut from foam rubber. You can buy it or pull it out of an old car seat. The foam rubber is cut to the shape of a plywood circle. It needs to be slightly rounded on the top side. To do this, just trim the corner with scissors. Since the foam rubber is not glued with special glue, as in furniture workshops, you should not take it too high so that it does not fidget.

Any washable upholstery material such as eco leather is used to cover the pouf. In case of contamination, such a pouf can be wiped off. The upholstery is cut with a margin. It is placed on the table with its back side up, then foam rubber and plywood are placed on it. The upholstery is wrapped and nailed with tension to the base. It should be tucked, forming small neat folds.

Then the upholstered seat is inserted into the cut neck of the bottle. It is screwed from below with several self-tapping screws. Also, on the back side, a loop from a strip of upholstery is screwed to the seat, which will help you remove the seat.

Now you can store tools and spare parts in the main part of the bottle. The seat of the pouf serves as a lid due to its tight fit. It turns out to be a 2 in 1 device: a storage box and a stool. The standard handle of the bottle will allow you to comfortably carry the pouffe with one hand.
