Mangal manufacturing process
To safely cut a cylinder, you need to open its valve and release the remaining gas. Then it is filled to the top with water and the valve is closed. Next, you need to make markings for the cutout of the lid and install the skewers. To do this, you need to draw 2 lines parallel to the longitudinal seam of the cylinder, stepping back from it 24 cm in both directions. They are drawn along the central part of the balloon between the transverse seams. The holes for the skewers will be located along these lines.
You need to step back another 10 cm from one of the lines and draw a parallel. The new line and the line furthest from it will be used to cut out the door. Immediately you need to put marks under the holes for the skewers.They are placed every 6 cm on the first two lines, drawn at a distance of 24 cm from the seam.
Using a grinder, a cut is made along a line shifted by 10 cm. At the same time, not reaching the transverse seams by a couple of centimeters. After this, door hinges are welded along it. Next, the cover is cut out completely to the far line.
Then on the line remaining on the cylinder you need to drill holes according to the marks. They are drilled to fit the width of the skewers.
On the opposite side, following the marks on the edge of the door opening, U-shaped grooves are cut out with a grinder, also for the width of the skewers.
A handle made of heat-resistant material is welded in the center of the door. You also need to make transverse cuts on the side walls of the grill with a grinder, which are necessary for air access to the coals when closing the lid.
To improve the grill, you need to clean its surface for better paint adhesion. The legs are welded to it from the bottom. For this, 4 sections of profile pipe, 1 m long each, are used. The pipes are welded crosswise, 2 pieces each. Then a crossbar is welded between them. If you wish, you can immediately create a shelf.
After this, the grill is painted on top with heat-resistant paint.
Before using it for the first time for its intended purpose, you need to burn one load of wood in it to remove the smell of the odorant. After this, it can be used for frying kebabs.
