If you are faced with the task of pulling out old pillars from concrete or pipes, do not rush to pick up a shovel. Use this simple proven method. It will help you pull out the post intact, and not leave behind an excavated pit.
What you will need:
- strong rope or chain;
- wooden deck;
- long strong lever 2.5-3 m;
- short planks.
Column removal process
A rope is tied at the bottom of the post. It is folded in half, then a loop is made from it and tightened on the pole. After this, its edges are drawn around it and tied together to make an eye for the lever.
A deck is placed under the column. Then a long lever is inserted into the eyelet from the rope. This could be thick fittings or pipe. Next, pressing on the edge of the lever resting on the deck, you need to pull the post up.
There is no need to press with all your might, as it may bend. It is enough to move it up and down, creating vibration.
As soon as the column partially comes out, short planks are placed under the lever on the deck, and everything is repeated.When the stands lose stability, you need to loosen the loop and lower the rope down.
After spending 10-20 minutes, you can tear out any post, of course, if it is not concreted or does not have a welded cross covered with soil. The method is simply a godsend for a sore back, as it does not require special tension on the spine.
