Windshield wiper repair process
It is necessary to evaluate whether the reason for poor cleaning of the wipers is actually weak pressure. It can be assessed by placing scales under the brushes and comparing the indicators for each leash. This will also help in the future to determine whether the pressure has increased sufficiently after the repair.
The cap is removed from the loose wiper and the nut is loosened. A rag is placed under it along its entire length to protect the glass. To rip it off the slots, you need to pull with one hand at the beginning of the leash, and with the other palm strike the leash a little further. As a result, it will come off the splines.
To increase the pressure, you need to hook the spring from the back of the leash with a wire. To do this, it is fixed in a vice.
After dismantling, you need to compress the C-shaped spring. This is done with a vice.
The compressed C-shaped spring hooks onto the coil spring and they are tensioned and pushed into place.After this, the leash is put back and pressed with a nut. All that remains is to check with a scale how much pressure has increased. If sufficient, cleaning quality tests can be carried out.
