Once, having been on an excursion to the fabulous salt caves of Soledar, we brought home a relatively small piece of salt as a memorable trophy. And knowing that the salt lamp is not only amazingly beautiful and bewitching, but also a very useful source of light, a unanimous decision was made to turn a piece of salt into a salt night light. To work, you will need a hand drill, a screwdriver, two self-tapping screws, a wooden stand, Secunda superglue, a soldering iron, three oblong pieces of rubber, a piece of wire of the desired length, a standard industrial night light, and literally just an hour of free time.

Salt night light

Having prepared everything you need, first you need to carefully drill a recess of the required diameter and depth for the microcircuit and screws at the base of a piece of salt using an ordinary hand drill.

Having disassembled a standard industrial night light, carefully remove the microcircuit with diodes. Holes for self-tapping screws were drilled in the stand, and holes were drilled in a piece of salt, too; just for extra confidence and strength, they filled it with glue.

We inserted the microcircuit and secured it to the stand with self-tapping screws.Three thin pieces of rubber were glued to the bottom of the wooden stand to prevent the night light from sliding on the surface.

The body of the night light was used as a socket.

By connecting it to the circuit inside the piece of salt with a suitable wire. It will be more interesting if you choose multi-colored diodes for the internal filling, they are especially effective in the dark.

The powerful thickness of a piece of salt allows you to look at this light source without particularly tiring additional eye strain. The night light does not require special care; when cleaning, just wipe off the dust with a slightly damp cloth or napkin.

Now there is only one question: where can I get such a piece of salt without salt mining enterprises nearby?
