Concrete walls, screeds and blind areas often have small cracks. Precipitation gets into them, freezes in winter, expands and tears the concrete. To avoid this, even narrow cracks need to be repaired. This can be done quickly and easily using sealant.
What you will need:
- polyurethane adhesive sealant;
- sealant gun;
- putty knife.
Crack repair process
Before sealing, you need to blow or vacuum the cracks to remove any dust present in them.
They are then filled with sealant from a gun.
Excess sealant is removed with a finger or spatula. Then you need to give the composition time to dry, and if necessary, the surface can be sanded.
Potholes on concrete surfaces are repaired in the same way. Polyurethane sealants once hardened are similar to rubber. They can stretch more than 300%. Thus, if the crack begins to expand, the repair compound will move with it and still prevent moisture from penetrating inside.
