Old worn out tires can be used in many different ways, even being used to make airtight water storage containers. Such tanks are useful for collecting sediment, mixing concrete, or simply for storing bulk materials. Making such containers is quite a feasible process, so if you have the desire, everything will definitely work out.
Materials:
- Worn car tire;
- old conveyor belt;
- nails 30-50 mm.
The process of making a sealed container from a tire
For a whole tire without cuts or holes, you need to cut the sidewall as evenly as possible closer to the bead. This is done with a regular mounting knife with a new blade. If it is clamped in rubber and does not move well, it should be lubricated with a working compound for better glide.
The cut sidewall is applied to the conveyor belt and outlined from the inside. Next, you need to drive a knife blade into the end of any tabletop or board, and using the resulting device, cut out a circle drawn on the tape with a tolerance of 2 cm on each side.
A circle cut from tape is nailed to the remaining intact bead of the tire with short nails with a pitch of 10 mm.
On the reverse side they need to be bent, placing a support under the cap. The bent nail is required to compress the rubber.
Next, the tire is turned to the reverse side.
The previously cut side will be added to the bottom of the container with 4 nails.
You can also nail handles to the side from a belt cut from a conveyor belt.
In this form, the container is ready for use. For aesthetics, it can be tinted with mastic.
When filled, it will hold liquid, which allows it to be used for collecting sediment, etc.
