Although the grinder is a universal tool for cutting, sharpening and grinding, it can also be made even more functional simply by connecting it with various devices. One of such consoles is this homemade product. It allows you to cut discs from sheet metal using an angle grinder.
Materials:
- Swivel wheel support;
- board or plywood;
- profile pipe 15x15 mm;
- nuts, bolts.
Fixture manufacturing process
The main component of this attachment is a rotating wheel support.
Before using it, you need to remove the wheel installed on it. To do this, you need to cut off the cap of the riveted axle.
The wheel support is screwed onto the corner of a wide board, which will serve as the machine bed.
Instead of a wheel, you need to install a piece of profile pipe in the eyes of the wheel support, having previously drilled it from the edge. The length of the lever used should be 20-25 cm. A hole with a diameter of 10-12 mm must be drilled at its end.
A board is attached to the frame on which the workpieces will be placed.
A bolt is passed through the hole in the lever, and with its help the angle grinder is screwed on.
Next, you need to drill the board attached to the top along with the base, and insert a long bolt from below. Its cap should be hidden in a secret place so that it does not disturb the stability of the machine.
By attaching a sheet of metal with a hole in the center to this bolt, you can use an attachment to cut perfectly straight discs with a grinder.
It will not be possible to cut them out with such high quality by hand. This machine also allows you to grind their circumference.
