Rusty scraps of pipes and other scrap metal, which at first glance seem like they belong in a metal collection facility, can be turned into something useful. We offer 3 great ideas that allow you to make a necessary household tool out of trash. At least one of them will definitely seem worthwhile to you.

1. Pipe candle burner

To make a burner, you need to cut a piece 50 mm long from a pipe with a diameter of 32-40 mm. On one side it needs to be welded with a piece of sheet steel or strip, leaving the incoming part as a sole for stability. It is better to clean the weld seam.

On the side of the tube at the top edge, holes are made along the entire circumference. Then a washer selected to size is pressed into it.

Now if you pour several cubes of kerosene, alcohol, gasoline or other fuel inside and light it, you will get a candle with a flame in the center of the washer. Its temperature will be higher than that of a paraffin candle. Thus, it can be used for melting plastics, etc.

2. Platform trolley for weights

For this homemade product, you need to prepare 4 sections of a 20x20 mm profile pipe, each 20 cm long. They are stripped, chipped together and welded. The seam sagging needs to be sanded off.

The resulting platform is drilled in the corners, and 4 furniture wheels are screwed to it. You need 2 rotary and 2 regular.

This cart can be placed under weights and rolled on it.

3. Retractable pick for collecting debris

To make a pike, you need to prepare a 1/2-inch tube of a convenient length for your height. 5 cm from the edge, a longitudinal cut of 5 cm is made in it, turning into a short transverse one.

Then a steel rod with a diameter of 6-8 mm, 10 cm longer than the tube, is prepared. An M6 nut is welded to the side 7 cm from the edge. Its internal thread must remain intact.

A washer is welded into the edge of the pipe opposite to the cut. Then a rod is inserted, and several compression springs are placed on it. Next, the open edge of the tube is also sealed with a washer.

You need to screw a bolt into the welded nut so that the springs rest against it. Now all that remains is to sharpen the edge of the rod to get a peak.

To collect debris, you need to push the sharp pin of the lance forward and fix its position by inserting the bolt into the transverse cut. It slides back in after use.
