Watering garden beds with a hose and sprayer takes a lot of time, which can be freed up by assembling a cheap, practical irrigation system. If it is available, all watering will be reduced to opening the tap and turning it off after a while. The system requires a minimum of human intervention, while evenly distributing water throughout the serviced area.

Materials:

  • Garden hose;
  • hose tees;
  • PET bottles;
  • wire;
  • nails.

Irrigation system manufacturing process

The principle of operation of this system is that homemade sprinklers connected in series with a hose are suspended over the beds, and the water they disperse evenly waters the plants. For the manufacture of each sprinkler, PET bottles are used. On them it is necessary to draw 2 lines along the circumference at the bottom with an indentation of 1 cm. The bottles are laid along the drawn lines with a needle in increments of 5 mm.

Then pieces of a garden hose 10-15 cm long are tightly inserted into their necks. The free ends of the tubes are pulled onto the tees.

You need to pull a piece of hose onto the tee of the sprayer, which will be the outermost one, bend it in half and clamp it with wire to plug one outlet. A wire clamp is also placed on the hose going to the bottle.

To prevent it from being pulled out of the sprayer by pressure, you need to drive a nail through its neck.

The required number of sprayers is made in the same way, but for the rest there is no need to install a side hose with a pinch.

They are connected to each other in series at the distance required for specific beds, in most cases 1.5-2 m is enough. To prevent the jumpers from the hose from being torn off the tees, it should be tightened with wire.

The system assembled in this way needs to be laid out along the bed or area that needs to be irrigated, and then suspended by a cable or cord stretched between the posts. In this position, the sprayers from the bottles will be directed downward, due to which they can irrigate the entire bed without eroding the soil.
