Most life hacks are not applicable in real life, as they simply do not work effectively. But among all the variety of such ideas, you can find really useful ones. Let's look at 5 life hacks that really work well.

1. Assembly knife from a tube cut

If your mounting knife is broken, but you still have blades for it, you can make an excellent holder for them from a piece of PP pipe. It needs to be heated along its entire length and compressed in a vice.

A through slot is made in the workpiece.

Now you can insert the blade into the tube and secure it with a bolt and nut.

By clamping the latter, it is possible to set the protrusion of the blade from the handle.

2. Garbage scoop made from a plastic canister

You can cut off the top and neck of a plastic canister as in the photo. One wall is trimmed a little larger, and the narrow sides are rounded.

Now a strip or handle is screwed to the workpiece with self-tapping screws.

That's it, the spacious dustpan is ready to collect garbage.

3. How to open a dowel in a loose hole

If the dowel is dangling in the chipboard, then it needs to be pulled out and partially split lengthwise.

A small wooden wedge is inserted into the crevice.

Now you need to return the dowel into the hole with the wedge forward. All that remains is to hammer it in with a hammer until it stops. The wedge will open the dowel, and it will hold tight.

4. Tube cable lug

If you don't have a cable lug, you can make one. The wire is stripped of 3-5 cm of insulation, and a piece of thin pipe is placed on top.

It needs to be splashed with a hammer, turning it into a plate.

Now, having drilled its edge, we get a full-fledged cable lug.

5. Cheap grinding attachment for a drill made from a sponge

A grinding attachment for a drill can be made from an abrasive sponge. 2 disks with a diameter of 30-40 mm are cut out of it with scissors.

The discs are placed together and pierced in the center. Now we put them on the bolt with a washer and tighten it with a nut, also through the washer.

We get an excellent nozzle no worse than a store-bought one, but much cheaper. In the future, when it is erased, we simply cut out new disks and install them.
