I once had a pincushion - very beautiful, with a transparent cone-shaped lid, but completely uncomfortable. The needles stuck out of the pad in different directions, so it was impossible to close the needle case with a lid. Needles kept falling out and getting lost. One day I bought mustard in a round plastic jar. And I got the idea to make a pincushion out of this jar.

To make such a pincushion it was required:
• transparent plastic jar with a lid,
• a small piece of foam rubber,
• a piece of dense and plain fabric,
• glue suitable for gluing fabric and plastic,
• needle and thread,
• scissors.

A pincushion made from a transparent jar

First you need to make a pincushion. I placed it in the lid of the jar. To do this, you need to cut out a circle from foam rubber with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the lid.

Next, you need to cover the foam pad with fabric. To do this, cut a circle out of fabric. The diameter of the fabric should be larger than the diameter of the lid to make it convenient to cover the foam circle.

Then we cover the finished foam circle with a cloth using a needle and thread. It turned out to be a small pincushion.

The pincushion is almost ready.Next, you need to fix the foam rubber pad covered with fabric inside the lid. To do this, we will use a suitable glue.

We place the needles in our pincushion and close it. The jar closes very easily.

To make our pincushion look more elegant, we decorate it with a braid of satin ribbons. We attach the braid of ribbons to the sides of the lid with glue.

A little work and time - and now, our needle bed is ready. The needles will never fall out of such a pincushion and will not rest against the walls of the jar - which means that the pincushion will be easy to close. It is very comfortable. You can carry it throughout the apartment and not worry about the needles getting lost.
