You can decorate a facade, foundation, or even a well ring without expensive natural stone, simply by making an imitation of it. It is much cheaper, but the result will be no less beautiful. Such imitation is possible even for a person who has no such experience at all.
Materials:
- Tile adhesive;
- facade paint;
- colors dark brown, beige, dark walnut, gray, black;
- dark wood stain with alcohol;
- façade acrylic varnish.
The process of creating imitation stone masonry
Tile adhesive 10 mm thick is applied to the prepared primed wall. Its layer is smoothed with a spatula. It is necessary to more or less level the surface to the same thickness, while leaving torn edges from the tool. You need to get the tubercles that a real stone has.
After 2-3 hours, the sharp edges of the glue are removed with a spatula. We need to make the surface more natural. The next day the glue will dry, but it will still be damp inside. At this moment the seams are cut on it. This can be done with a regular screwdriver. A seam width of 5-10 mm will look best.
Then the surface is cleaned of dust with a brush.
After 5-6 days, when the glue is completely dry, you need to paint the stones. For this purpose, ordinary facade paint is used. It is best to use 4 colors. To do this, it is tinted with colors. In the example, dark brown, beige, dark walnut, and gray were used.
The stones painted in different colors must dry. Then, with a thin brush, the seams are drawn with black paint.
When the seams are dry, a dark alcohol stain is applied on top. It is best to lay it in 2 layers.
After it dries, a developing layer is applied to the stones with a semi-dry brush. For it, light gray paint, slightly tinted with a couple of drops of colorant, is used. It will allow you to show the relief. You need to paint with a brush not in a row, but selectively and in no case painting over the recesses. This is done in 2 layers with drying time of 1 hour.
To protect the stone from moisture, acrylic facade varnish is applied on top. It will allow you to reveal the depth of color. You can do without it, but then the paint will gradually become dull.
