Over time, the interior door may begin to close with force as it sags. She rubs against the door frame and has to pull the handle with all her might. The cause of the problem is door hinges that become loose or bend under the weight of the heavy leaf. This problem can be fixed in three ways.

1. Restoring holes for self-tapping screws with toothpicks

If the door is periodically slammed hard when closing, its hinges may break out. This can be easily determined by simply looking at the gaps between the leaf and the door frame. They will be different. You need to open the door and try to move the hinges with your hand. If they are loose, then it is necessary to unscrew the torn screws one by one and restore the weakened holes. This is done with a toothpick. It is inserted and breaks off flush. Depending on the situation, one or more toothpicks may help.

Then the screw is screwed back in.

With toothpicks in the hole it will be held securely. You will also need to tighten the self-tapping screws that were not torn off; they will in any case turn out to be a little loose if the loop was loose.

2. Replacing short, weak screws with long ones

Door hinges are screwed on with short screws, which is why the hinges often become loose. Replacing them with long self-tapping screws solves the problem very reliably. It is advisable that they have a similar sized hat. You can simply unscrew a short screw, and using it in the store as a sample, buy a long one with the same head and color.

If a new long screw does not fit well, it is better to drill under it with a thin drill. The main thing is not to overdo it with tightening, as the screw may simply break.

3. Alignment of the bent loop

It happens that the door sags because its hinges are deformed. This often happens especially when the canvas is very heavy and is constantly open. You can determine that the hinge is bent simply by looking at the gap between the closed plates. They will not fit tightly.

Deformations can be corrected by straightening the loop. To do this, when the door is closed, you need to knock out the pin connecting the hinge doors with a hammer, placing a thin bolt or rod underneath.

The door is then aligned in the frame to ensure the same gap.

You can immediately see how the lugs on the plates shift relative to each other. Using pliers or an adjustable wrench, you need to bend them, aligning them in one row. After this, the pin is hammered back in and the door can open as expected.
