When you try to split a hollow ceramic block with a trowel, its partitions will inevitably be destroyed. It simply crumbles into fragments. The methods are applicable to ordinary bricks and do not work with it.
Here's a great construction hack using a few pieces of rebar, no special tools needed.
What you will need:
- Reinforcement rods 30 cm each – 2 pcs.;
- hammer.
The process of splitting a ceramic block smoothly
A piece of reinforcement is placed on a flat, solid base. The block is placed on it with a spoon so that the rod passes along the dividing line.
We place a second rod on top and hit it with a hammer. As a result, the block splits exactly along the line, and with virtually no formation of fragments.
