Materials:
- reinforcement 10-14 mm;
- cord or rope for wrapping the handle.
Ax making process
A long piece of reinforcement is bent in half. The length of the double part should correspond to the size of the desired axe. You can bend it in a vice, grabbing the end of the reinforcement with a lever from the tube, this will make it easier.
There should be a ring at the bend. To do this, a pipe is inserted into it, and the reinforcement is compressed with a vice until the edges become parallel.
Straight double reinforcement must be bent to repeat the shape of the ax handle. Its edges curve outward.
The reinforcement is welded together at several points. Its ends are cut at an acute angle.
2 arcs from the same reinforcement are welded to the workpiece. You need to form them into the shape of an ax. The arc, simulating a blade, is reinforced by another one, welded from the inside with a continuous seam.
Next, the blade is sharpened.
The fittings themselves are cleaned of rust with a stiff brush, and the ax handle is wrapped with rope.
We get not just a souvenir, but a completely working ax for chopping kindling, and, if necessary, for chopping meat.
