The process of manufacturing an electric machine for sawing wood
We disassemble a used, but still serviceable sharpening machine, partially sharpen the shaft and reassemble it, but without sanding wheels.
On a lathe, we bore the inner diameter of the pipe section to a certain depth on both sides and press in one rolling bearing.
Using a plasma cutter, we cut out a shaped contour from a square plate of given dimensions, symmetrical with respect to the hole, the diameter of which is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe with the bearing. We cut off the corner of the plate behind the hole along a straight transverse line.
We press the pipe with the bearing on top into the hole in the figured contour of the steel plate and, making sure that it is vertical, weld it.
In the figured plate, we drill two identical holes in the center in the longitudinal direction and cut threads into them with a tap. We screw two bolts into the threaded holes and tighten them with a wrench.
We put the shaped plate with the pipe, bearing forward, onto the electric motor shaft, then install the bushing and place the second rolling bearing in the bore of the pipe and press it in until it stops. Tighten the bearings and intermediate sleeve on the motor shaft with a nut.
We install the electric motor on a frame welded from a steel angle and secure it with bolts and nuts. We put the saw chain drive unit on the end of the motor shaft and tighten it with a nut.

Using bolts screwed into the figured plate and nuts, we secure the bar, put on the saw chain, tension it and tighten the nuts. To prevent the saw chain from touching the ground, we install a limiter between the bottom of the figured plate and the frame and weld it.
Above the saw chain along the top of the figured plate and the chain drive on the engine, we weld a visor made of a metal strip to ensure the safety of the operator when working with an electrical device.
Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the engine, perpendicular to the tire and almost all the way into it, we weld goats welded from two types of profile pipes to the frame.
We also weld a slightly arched pipe to the cylinder on the engine shaft to raise and lower the bar with the saw chain.
We place the sawn log in the trestles, turn on the engine with the bar and saw chain raised, feed the log forward along the trestles and lower the cutting unit. At the same time, cutting firewood does not require much effort from the operator, except for periodic lubrication of the saw chain.
