Will need
To implement the idea we will need the following materials and products:
- electric chain saw;
- profile pipes;
- equal angles;
- mounting angles and plates;
- wooden planks;
- electrical (foot switch, socket, wires, etc.)
- screws, bolts, nuts and washers;
- plastic clamps;
- annealed wire;
- plastic bottles;
- oil-resistant tube, etc.
We will have to work: welding equipment, grinder, drill, clamps, tape measure and marker, standard angles and angle meter.
Manufacturing process of sawing machine
We make the power frame from profile pipes. To do this, we connect two segments of equal length and cross-section by welding two crossbars - pieces of a profile pipe of a smaller cross-section, slightly departing from the ends of the long sides.
Mark the middle between the crossbars on the long sides using a tape measure and a marker.
We take two identical corners in length equal to the distance between the long sides of the load frame. We insert a section of profile pipe between the corners and secure them with a clamp.
We place the corners in the middle of the long sides of the frame, place 2 mm thick plates under them and weld them in the indicated places. Loosen the clamp and remove the profile pipe.
In the center of one of the long sides of the frame, we weld a vertical post, to the middle of which we weld horizontally a small section directed inside the frame. We check the accuracy of installation of parts using standard angles and fix them with clamps.
We make the legs from two corners and four pieces of square pipe. We check the accuracy of the legs by using a reference angle and measuring the diagonals. Only after this we begin welding.
We press the ends of the legs against the crossbars of the power frame from the outside and tilt them outward. We check the angle of deviation with an angle meter. After making sure that they are the same everywhere, we fix and weld the legs to the power frame one by one.
To attach the electric saw, we use holes on the guide rail, as well as steel corners.
If the holes in the corners do not fit, then, using the perforations in the tire, we mark the drilling location and use a drill to make other holes in the corners.
In the upper flanges of the corners of the power frame, we drill holes in the center and cut threads into them. We screw two corners to them with screws, between which we insert the guide bar of the electric saw and securely fasten it with a bolt, nuts and washers.
Using the top hole in the tire, we attach it to the bracket on the vertical post using two steel plates, screws, bolts, washers and nuts, including a wing nut.
To ensure that the guide bar is always in a vertical position, we pass a strong clamp, the length of which can be adjusted, through the handle of the electric saw and the hole in the power frame.
In the tabletop of the machine made of chipboard, we cut out a slot from one edge in the right place for the guide bar of the saw chain, and screw it to the load frame with several screws.
We cover the top of the saw chain with a wooden casing, which is secured to the plates with two screws.
We assemble the electrics, consisting of a chainsaw cord with a plug, which we insert into a socket attached to the frame of the machine and a foot switch connected to it. We connect the second wire from the outlet to the network. We also perform grounding to protect people from electric shock.
We will provide another saw chain lubrication system, although the electric saw has a standard one, but since it is constantly in a vertical position, its capabilities may not be enough.
We attach the upper part of the plastic bottle with the neck down to the vertical stand with two plastic clamps. We put a smaller bottle with lubricating oil in it, in the lid of which we make a hole into which we insert a tube. We attach it from the outside in two places to a wooden casing, and place the end above the saw chain.
When sawing firewood, a lot of sawdust is generated. We collect some of them in a plastic bag, securing it to a wire frame located under the tabletop.
