How to Make a 12 Watt LED Mini Flashlight. Nothing is impossible. Yes, of course, you can buy such a flashlight. And it will be beautiful, shiny and inexpensive. But this is not our method. Only by yourself, with your own hands, from scrap materials. Let's start!

First of all, you need to select bright emitting LEDs. There will be 12 of them in the flashlight. This means the power of each should not exceed 1 W. And they must be case-based, i.e. not SMD.

Making a bright LED flashlight with your own hands

Because LEDs They generate heat during operation and should be placed on a heat sink. A finned aluminum radiator is perfect for this. They are glued to it for fixation. It’s even better if heat-conducting paste is used.

LEDs They are soldered according to a certain pattern - pluses to pluses, minuses to minuses. Those. connected in parallel.

Next, the assembled kit on the radiator is simply glued to a suitable sized board or piece of hardboard.

Now it's time to start eating LEDs. The power source voltage must be at least 3 Volts. Great for this 18650 battery. Its nominal voltage is 3.7 V.

The current consumed by the LEDs will be quite large, so the flashlight uses two batteries connected in parallel. They are also glued to the base. A box is assembled from pieces of hardboard and glue. Everything should be aesthetically pleasing.

Power switch and charging module placed in the body of the future flashlight. The electronic circuit of the device is unsoldered. Additionally, an electronic voltmeter is installed in the flashlight to monitor voltage during operation and charging. batteries.

A stylish handle is bent from a strip of metal and secured with the same glue. Some will say it's unsightly. And someone will admire industrial minimalism. The main thing is that it works!

The first check indicates the functionality of the charger batteries. Half the battle is already done. Next is an assessment of the main function of the flashlight - luminous intensity. Inclusion! LEDs shine brightly, the voltmeter shows the battery voltage of 3.6 V. It works!

The flashlight shines very brightly. Tests in the dark show its effectiveness.

Well, that’s not how it’s done... Feed LEDs, the voltage drop across which in normal mode is about 3 V from a fairly powerful 18650 with their 3.7 V without current limitation, parallel as many as 12 pieces - from different batches and even, possibly, different manufacturers... You should read about the driver first ...
