Operating experience and reviews indicate that this antenna can receive a reliable signal at a distance of up to 50 km from the transmitting tower. Despite its effectiveness, it can be done in just a few minutes, literally “on your knees.” The only tool you need is a knife. There is no need to solder anything. The antenna itself is made from a piece of coaxial cable with a characteristic impedance of 75 Ohms. To connect to the TV you will need an antenna plug.

Antenna manufacturing instructions

Measure 8 centimeters from the end of the antenna cable and remove the top layer of insulation.

It is important not to damage the screen braid. It needs to be carefully unwoven, and then the insulation of the same 8 cm must be removed from the signal central core.

Now the cable braid must be connected to the central wire, tightly twisting them together.

Next stage. From the twist, 22 cm are measured, then another 2 cm.

And on this two-centimeter section of the cable, the top layer of vinyl and the shielding braid are again removed. The central core remains isolated.

Next, 22 cm are measured again and after that another 1 cm.A centimeter section of the cable is freed only from the top layer of insulation. The braid should be left intact.

It is this segment of the screen that must be securely connected to the eight-centimeter end of the wire prepared at the very beginning. It is wound tightly with several turns. The result is a circle from which the reduction cable extends to the TV.

All that remains is to mount the plug for connection. Anyone, not just a specialist, can make such an antenna. And perhaps someone doesn’t know how to cut a connector on a coaxial cable. A few words about this.

The top vinyl sheath is removed to a distance of about 1 cm. The shielding braid is unraveled and bent further onto the cable. The insulation from the signal wire is not removed for its entire length, but not reaching 2-5 mm to the edge of the removed top insulation. This is necessary so that the screen and signal wire do not short-circuit with each other when installing the connector. The plug itself consists of two parts: an F-connector and an adapter. The connector is screwed onto the cable and the bent braid. It has threads and is very easy to do. Before this operation, you should attach it to the cut section of the wire; you may have to adjust the length of the central conductor by cutting off the excess. And now all that remains is to screw in the selected F-adapter. They are straight and angular. Select the one that fits most conveniently into the antenna socket of the TV. That's it, the antenna is ready.
