Almost everyone who has made an indoor antenna from coaxial cable has been surprised by its simplicity and high sensitivity. Saving money that would have gone towards buying an antenna was also an extremely pleasant surprise. Below is a more “advanced” version of such an antenna, which, due to its design, has a more aesthetic appearance and improved protection from external factors. To assemble it, you do not need to twist the cable cores and wrap them with electrical tape. You also do not need to use a soldering iron to solder twists.

The process of making a simple antenna from coaxial cable
We measure 52 cm of cable and cut it off using wire cutters.
We measure approximately 2 cm from one end, and using a utility knife, make a cut in the outer insulation of the antenna cable.
We remove the notched insulation, and wrap the outer shielding braid so that it does not cover the internal dielectric. Having retreated 2-3 mm from the previous cut, using a stationery knife we make a cut into the internal dielectric.
We remove the insulation. We put the antenna plug on the stripped end of the cable.
If the inner core protrudes too much from the plug, it should be cut off with wire cutters.
We also measure 2 cm from the other end of the cable, make an incision in the outer insulation, and remove it.
We wrap the outer braid over the insulation. Having retreated 2-3 mm from the resulting winding, we make an incision in the internal insulation and remove it. We bend the core so that it lies against the wound braid.
Screw on the antenna plug.
We attach both plugs to the tee so that it forms a circle.
We measure the center of the loop, and at a distance of 5 mm from it to the right and left, using a stationery knife, we make an incision into the outer insulation.
Carefully, so as not to damage the internal insulation, remove the outer shielding braid of the cable.
We bite off a small piece of the antenna cable (about 5-6 cm). We clean it on both sides, attach the third plug from the tee to one side, and another plug to the other.
A simple antenna made from coaxial cable is ready.
Testing of the antenna shows that it provides better signal quality than an antenna made using a soldering iron and twists. Enjoy watching!
