Production of liquid, adhesive plastic
Place crushed brittle plastic in a glass jar and fill it with xylene-based solvent “No. 2K” so that it completely covers the crushed plastic.
Close the jar with a lid and leave for a day.
Within 24 hours, the plastic fragments completely dissolve and a homogeneous but rather thick mass is obtained. Moreover, the degree of viscosity of the resulting mixture is regulated by the amount of solvent.
Using a medical syringe, add a little epoxy resin hardener to the created mass and once again thoroughly mix the ingredients that make up the mixture.
The resulting product is used for various purposes. We cover wooden blanks with it using a brush or an old toothbrush to protect them from moisture and for aesthetic purposes.
If you cover the handles of pliers with this liquid mass, then after drying they will become more convenient to use, will not rust and will not conduct electric current. Touching the working part of the tool to live parts will not result in a shock.
By covering a metal surface with the resulting mass, we will protect it from oxidation in air, in a damp room, and even in sea water. It will also benefit from an aesthetic point of view.
The resulting material is also successfully used for gluing plastic products. To do this, coat the surfaces to be joined with our composition, press the parts together and leave to dry.
The strength of the bonded surfaces is not inferior to the base material.
