Making a scent bomb at home is easy. Our bomb will have notes of lavender and the healing properties of sea salt. For one bomb we need:
- 4 tablespoons of soda
- 2 tablespoons citric acid
- 1 tablespoon starch
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil (Any other base oil will do)
- 8 drops lavender essential oil
- spray bottle with water
Take a blender or mortar and finely grind the citric acid and sea salt.
You should get a uniform fine mass, without large crystals.
Mix soda with starch.
Add crushed sea salt and citric acid to the mixture of soda and starch. Stir until a homogeneous mass is obtained.Blue sea salt will give our bomb not only healing properties, but also a pretty bluish color.
Add wheat germ oil to our mixture, mix and make sure that the soda does not react with citric acid. The mass should be slightly damp, but not dry. The wet one will swell as if by yeast, and the dry one will not be able to hold its shape.
Add lavender essential oil. Mix everything.
We try to form a lump from the mass and see that it holds its shape. If it crumbles, then it’s the spray bottle’s turn. Make a few injections and mix quickly. When the mass reaches the desired consistency, we begin to fill the mold. Any plastic or silicone mold will work for the mold. In our master class, we used a jar of Rastishki.
Press the mixture tightly into the mold. Make sure there are no loose places anywhere, otherwise there is a risk that the bomb will fall apart. Let it dry. For about four hours. After which the bomb is ready for use.
