For a windbreaker you will need 60 cm of denim with a width of at least 150 cm.
We cut along the split line. To do this, we use the base pattern for the front, back and sleeves. In the front, we transfer the chest dart to the side seam. We make the sleeve set-in with one seam. Lay out the patterns on the fabric. We make allowances for a loose fit of 4-6 cm. We cut out 2 shelves, a back and 2 sleeves. We outline with colored chalk and cut out.
We begin to assemble the product. It is recommended to start work by closing the chest darts on the front and the shoulder darts on the back.
Then we sew the shoulder and side seams using live thread, departing from the edge at least 1.5 cm. We check that the chest darts exactly correspond to the measurement of the center of the chest. After fitting, you can sew the side and shoulder seams using a machine. We sew them. Iron it towards the shelf.
Let's start working with the sleeves.
First we make the side seam. Then we lower the head of the sleeve a little.To do this, just set the longest stitch value and the minimum thread tension that your sewing machine allows.
We sew the sleeve into the armhole using live thread. Make sure that the top of the sleeve matches the shoulder seam. We try it on and adjust it. Then we sew in the sleeves using a machine, finishing the seam edges with an overlocker.
The bottom of the sleeve is shaped like a cuff. We cut out a rectangle with a length equal to the sleeve circumference at the wrist, 5 cm x 2 wide. Sew the side seams at the cuffs. Then place the cuff right side to the right side of the bottom of the sleeve and stitch. Likewise for the second sleeve. After this, from the wrong side, the edge of the cuff must be processed using an overlocker and stitched so that on the front side the stitching falls into the connecting seam between the sleeve and the cuff. Iron it.
Let's move on to processing the neck. To do this, we return to the base pattern. We lay out the fabric on the bias and cut out separately the hem for 2 shelves and the back. We sew the parts along the side seams. We process the free edge with an overlocker. Then we apply the front side of the hem to the front side of the product and stitch them down. Turn it inside out, secure it with an additional seam, and iron it. We manually fix the hem to the shoulder seams.
Let's start with the bottom line of the product. After fitting, we outline the level along which it will pass. In this case, it is the middle of the femur. We process the edge with an overlock, bend it and fix it. Then we stitch. Let's iron. The last step is the lock. To do this, we bend the required width along the central edges of the shelves and grind the main panel and the hem in the neck area. We hide the edge of the hem under the hem.
We attach a detachable lock to each shelf separately on a live thread. Then we change the foot in the sewing machine to a special one for sewing in a lock and perform this operation. We make sure that the edges of the product are the same.
All you have to do is iron it and the product is ready.
