Believe me, once you master the technique "quilling", then you will simply be unstoppable. I am fascinated by the process of twisting paper strips. I didn’t buy a special kit for this technique, but took available materials. Instead of a quilling hook, I use a thin, long wooden skewer. It is very convenient to wind a paper strip onto it and easily remove the round blank. Then I let the spiral unwind a little and glue the edge with regular PVA glue. At first, in the evenings I simply twisted the “free spiral” elements and put them in a container. When I had a lot of blanks, I made the simplest paintings and crafts (often these were flowers and animals). I gave crafts to my friends and colleagues. They liked little surprises. But one fine evening I decided to make the piece “Pieces of Fruit on a Plate.”

To work you need to prepare:
- a set of quilling paper (5 mm wide);
- scissors;
- PVA glue;
- wooden skewer.
I will focus on each individual fruit.

1. Grapes.
For it you need to choose from a set of 21 long light green stripes.Of the 18, you need to twist “tight spirals”, and the 3 remaining strips need to be cut into 4 parts each. We make “eye” elements from them, and twist one randomly. The blanks should be glued together as shown in the photo.

2. Strawberries.
For this fruit you need to take 33 red stripes and 1 green. 31 strips must be cut in half and twisted into tight spirals. 2 remain for wrapping the finished form. The green stripe needs to be cut in half and twisted into two “arrowhead” elements. The elements must be glued as shown in the photo.

3. Orange and lemon.
Take 11 yellow stripes, 2 orange, 16 white. From 10 yellow stripes you need to make 20 triangle elements and wrap each with half a white strip. From the remaining white stripes you need to make small “tight ovals”. The remaining strips are used to wrap the finished slices. All elements need to be glued together as in the photo.

4. Kiwi.
For these fruits, prepare 13 dark green stripes, 1 white, 2 brown, 10 black. From green stripes you need to twist 26 “drop” elements, from white - 2 “eye” elements, and from black - 20 “tight spiral” blanks. We will use brown ones to wrap the finished work. All elements must be assembled as shown in the photo.

5. Pineapple.
Take 9 soft yellow stripes. From 8, make large triangle elements, and the last one is needed to wrap the work. The photo will tell you how to glue the elements.

6. Apples.
Take 3 yellow stripes, 3 red, 1 brown and 1 green. From the brown strip we make 6 “dense ovals”, from the green strip we make 3 “eye” elements, and we twist the yellow and red ones as in the photo.

I laid out all the prepared fruits on an openwork plate, which I had previously made using the quilling technique. You can also glue the same plate together from the photo.

This beautiful work is made from ordinary paper strips twisted into spirals and various elements.
