Activated carbon, which you can buy at a pharmacy, gives lemonade its black color. But don't be alarmed, firstly, you won't be able to taste the charcoal due to the very low concentration. But secondly, it is not only harmful, but useful! Activated Charcoal: Prevents hangovers, whitens teeth, rejuvenates and removes toxins from the body. I am, of course, not a doctor; there are many scientific articles on this topic.
Lemonade recipe.
Black lemonade is quick and easy to make, requiring just a few ingredients. Most of them are sure to be found in your kitchen, with the possible exception of activated carbon.
Ingredients
- juice of one lemon.
- 1-2 capsules activated carbon in gelatin capsules.
- Maple or other syrup (Or other sweetener).
- Water.
- Ice.
Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out its juice with a juicer. Remove any lemon seeds that might get into the juice. Add lemon juice to a glass.
Open 1-2 capsules with activated carbon (if you don’t have capsules, you can try taking regular tablets and crush them finely until soapy), add to lemon juice and mix.
Place ice in a glass and add water. Add syrup to taste. You can add another sweetener, I like this one.
Garnish the glass with a slice of lemon. Drink and enjoy!
