So, let's start with the most difficult thing - tying the hand and three fingers. I had BABY threads, the length of which is 100 g - 360 m, crocheted No. 3, quite tightly. We form an open loop, knit 6 single crochet loops in the center and connect them. In the second row, we double the number of loops and knit an arm approximately 8 cm long. We increase the number of loops by 6 and knit 3 rows, then add 3 loops and knit 3 more rows. We divide the loops into approximately 3 parts, you should get 7 for each finger and knit each finger separately. We hide the threads inside. The upper part of the arm remains on the open loop; there is no need to tighten it. Hide the thread inside, knit two into each loop and knit 4 rows.This is our shirt. I knitted it in yellow, but actually it should be white.
We knit the legs in the same way as the arms with yellow threads 8 cm by 6 loops. Then we knit the white socks down 5 rows, then increase the number of loops by 2 times and knit 3 more rows. At the top we knit a shirt with blue threads (in the cartoon, however, the pants are brown) in the same way as at the hands. Using black threads we knit a heel for 12 loops (1st row – 6, then increase) for about 8 rows. But we knit the shoes themselves using 9 loops in the first round, then 18 loops in the 2nd, for a total of 14 rows, counting the expansion and contraction of the fabric. Before closing the loops, we fill the shoes with synthetic padding. We sew on the heels, sew the center (the beginning of the knitting) inside, then they turn out dense and like real ones.
We connect the shoes with the legs, embroider the lacing.
Let's start knitting SpongeBob himself. According to the size of the washcloth, and mine is 12*17*3 cm, we begin to knit the fabric with single crochets. I started with yellow. Knitted enough to start knitting clothes. We knit a shirt with white threads for 6 rows, pants with blue threads for 20 rows, then again 6 rows with white threads. Then we continue to knit with yellow threads until the fabric closes on the back of our sponge.
Now we begin to knit the eyes. In the first row we cast on 6 loops with blue threads, the second row with blue threads, expanding the fabric 2 times, and the third and last row we knit with white threads. Increasing the number of loops to 18.
Now we embroider the eyelashes and add highlights to the eyes. Sew on the eyes. We knit 2 teeth - these are two squares for 5 loops of 4 rows. Sew them on and embroider the mouth. The nose is knitted with 6 stitches in the round for 8 rows. Don't forget about the tie and shirt collar.
We sew the legs to the pants and put them on the sponge.
Now all we have to do is knit the side part using the same principle, the main thing is that the color of the shirt and pants match.
Immediately sew on the arms.
We sew the sidewall to the main fabric.
And we tie it around the perimeter with ordinary stitches, don’t forget to knit 3 stitches at the corners for expansion.
