Sweaters, blouses, cardigans can be knitted according to patterns, then the parts can be sewn together. But knitting seamlessly is much more convenient.

- It’s easy to “tie up” children’s clothes by increasing the length of the sleeves and the entire product, without unraveling the cardigan or sweater;
- When the cardigan is no longer needed, it is easy to unravel it and reuse the threads, since there are no tears or knots.
- Simplicity of calculations.
Preparatory stage
The calculation is very easy to do. For sizes, you just need to measure the neck circumference and raglan length (from armpit to collarbone). We add 4 centimeters to the neck circumference and divide by 6. Two parts are the back, sleeves are 1/6 of the volume, and two sixths are for the front shelves. The raglan line can be made of 2 loops or one. If you knit a line with knit stitches, you will get a “raglan track”; we will knit a line with one purl stitch.
For a cardigan size for a 2-year-old girl, you will need 200 grams of wool blend, if 100 grams. skein 175 meters. For this thread thickness we take knitting needles No. 3.5.You can start knitting and knit to the end of the yoke on two long knitting needles, but it is more convenient to use circular knitting needles on a cable. Choose knitting needles on a cable, and not on a fishing line; loops move along them more easily. Sleeves can be knitted on 4 needles + a fifth transition needle.
You choose the threads to your taste, of any thickness, calculating the loops is easy to do. It is enough to knit with the selected knitting needles and the same pattern as you will knit a cardigan, a sample of 10*10 centimeters. Then wet, dry and count how many loops are in 1 centimeter horizontally and how many rows are vertical.
Let's start knitting.
We cast on 61 loops and knit, adding one loop to each side of the raglan line when we knit a row from the front side. To do this, we make yarn overs and knit them when we knit the wrong side.
Having knitted the raglan line to the required length, we temporarily thread the parts intended for the sleeves with a thread of a different color.
We connect the shelves and the back, but between them you need to add five loops. (for a smaller size three, for a jacket for an adult seven loops). Having connected, we knit the front and back with a single piece of fabric.
Carefully open the temporarily closed sleeve, cast on five loops from the already joined fabric under the armpit and knit. It is more convenient to knit a sleeve on five knitting needles, but you can also use circular ones. At a distance from the armpit to the elbow, you need to reduce the number of loops in the circumference of the sleeve. In our case, we decrease nine loops. We knit the second sleeve in the same way.
The final stage. We crochet the collar, front, bottom of the sleeves and the entire cardigan. For tying, you can use threads of a different color. It is more convenient to crochet loops for button fastenings in the second or third half-columns.
