This master class is designed for those needlewomen who do not have the opportunity to purchase real fleece. Instead of meter fabric, ordinary Santa Claus hats were used in the work. The advantage of sewing a Christmas tree skirt from hats is obvious. There is no need to cut the fabric and sew on the border, everything is already ready to assemble the skirt onto the tripod. The cost of such a cape for the base of the New Year tree is several times cheaper than buying a ready-made skirt. The skirt itself is decorated with Christmas poinsettia flowers. Initially large flowers were planned, but during the sewing process the idea came to add small ones. Well, let's move on to sewing.

1. We will need:
•Santa Claus hats – 6 pieces*.
•Needle.
•Scissors.
•Threads.
*4 caps for the skirt and 2 for poinsettia flowers.
2. Unplug 4 hats along one side seam. Leave the second seam untouched.

3. Cut out a circle in the center. Of course, the ideal sewing option is when your Christmas tree is already in place and you can try on a skirt while sewing. I made a center cutout at random.

4. The next step is to sew and connect all the details of the future skirt.

5.Please note: the Christmas tree skirt is sewn with a wrap. One edge remains open (not stitched). Well, the base is ready.

6. Next, the preparation of the flowers begins. We tear off the white edging from the remaining caps and cut them into fragments 2-3 cm wide.

7. While the part is folded, give it the shape of a leaf like this.

8. This photo shows how to fold the leaf of a future flower. (You don't need to flash it yet.)

9. Next, we bend it in half and begin to form a flower.

10. Add a second part, folded in the same way.

11. All that remains is to sew on the third piece and pull the thread through the first petal. DIY poinsettia is ready.

12. We straighten the petals and prepare 6 more of the same flowers. To decorate the tripod cape you need 7 flowers.

13. When I was getting ready to throw away the remains of the poinsettia, this idea came to mind - to make small flowers out of them.

14. I gathered six petals on a thread and tightened it tightly.

15. These turned out to be quite cute little flowers. They need to be made in the amount of 7 pieces.

17. Apply poinsettia flowers to the skirt.

18. Sew not in the middle, but closer to the outer edge.

19. We decorate the central neckline with small flowers. A simple but beautiful cape for the Christmas tree, or rather, for the cross, is ready.
