Sometimes it is difficult to find the switch in the dark. To make this work easier, I propose to build a backlight into it. Acts as a light source Light-emitting diode VD1, connected to the switch terminals through resistor R1. Diode VD2 protects Light-emitting diode from reverse voltage. When the switch contacts are open, the circuit shows voltage flowing through the cold filament of the light bulb. When the switch contacts are closed, the voltage between them is zero, and Light-emitting diode does not light up.

It is advisable to set resistor R1 to at least 0.5 W, since it generates some heat. As LED I used red super bright transparent 5mm Light-emitting diode.

As a result, this is what I got:

Not only switches can be equipped with such lighting:

If possible, you can replace the LED with a neon bulb. Removing the diode accordingly.

Good luck !

neon is more reliable and energy-saving lamps and LED lamps do not flicker through it.

and I just Light-emitting diode and a resistor - and everything is ok. but energy-saving and LED lamps blink

Everything is fine except for one nuance. Now all normal people use LED lamps for lighting in their apartments, or at least energy-saving ones.
When installing the backlight of the switch, the lamps will also light up slightly.
Maybe it's easier to buy a night light? Or do it yourself if you don’t have money? Or remember the route from the bed to the toilet?

Now all normal people have either LED or energy-saving lamps installed in their apartments.
Both will flicker under such lighting.
This advice is from the early 90s and earlier.

Glue the Chinese luminous tape - that's all the lighting

Light-emitting diode It should not be used as a backlight, it is not economical and consumes a decent current, 20mA, while a neon lamp consumes 0.2mA.

Dmitry, parallel to the light bulbs in the chandelier we place a non-polar film capacitor of 0.47 microfarads 630 Volts, and there are no problems. The capacitor bypasses the light bulbs, and when the switch is off, they will not blink. Tested, works 100%

Pavel Skvortsov, I agree about the neon. Neon bulbs consume 0.2 mA current, and Light-emitting diode 20mA.LEDs unreliable and uneconomical. I installed Soviet neon bulbs TN0.2 into the switches through a 200 kOhm resistor, they have been working for 4 years now. No problems.
