Summer is a time for country holidays. What's a vacation without a feast? You can, of course, get a plastic table purchased at the supermarket, light and openwork. However, such a table, like any thing, also has its drawbacks. For example, it can sway from a gust of wind at the most inopportune moment. But everything can be fixed if there is old lumber at the dacha. A table made by yourself looks more efficient and reliable, lasts longer, it will not burst due to temperature changes and will not crack under high load pressure. The cost of such a table is half an hour!

Materials for work:
• Old timber measuring 10 x 15 – 4 heights of table legs;
• Board 40 mm thick – 2 widths + 2 tabletop lengths;
• Edged board – 1 pc. 5 meters long;
• Nails 120 mm long – 16 pieces;
• Nails 40 mm long – 20 pieces;
• Saw, hammer, brush, paints.

Stages of work:

First stage: forming the basis.

We take an old window sill, a block, a couple of thick boards. To give stability to the future table, this master class uses a block and an old window sill. The window sill is convenient with already cut recesses. But you can easily replace it with timber and use only that.

On the windowsill we measure 65 centimeters.

We saw off two parts, each of which is 65 centimeters long.

The legs of the future table are made of timber, on which we measure 60 centimeters.

We saw off two parts of the same length.

We install the pieces of the window sill - the bases at a short distance from each other. Having made a small indentation from the edge of the base, we install a leg - a beam - on the depressions of the window sill.

We drive a nail (120 mm long) into the leg-beam on each side, connecting the joints of the leg with the parts of the window sill. We drive the nails in at an angle (diagonally).

On the opposite side we install the second leg - a beam, similarly connecting its joints with parts of the window sill with nails.

To strengthen the connection between the parts of the table, we turn the resulting structure over and hammer the nails in a straight line, securing the junction of the leg - beam and base - window sill.

The base of the table is ready.

Second stage: making the tabletop.

We saw off two thick boards (floorboards) and connect them to the top of the legs - the bars. We nail it with nails 120 mm long, use 4 pieces.
DIY country table

We attach two thick boards to the uncovered sides of the legs - bars. The length of the boards is equal to the length of the tabletop (in this master class it is one meter). We fasten with nails 120 mm long, use 4 pieces.

For the front side of the tabletop we use a smooth edged board.

We cut 5 sections 90 centimeters long.

We place the cut edged boards on top of the nailed meter-long pieces of thick boards (positioning them across).

Using nails 40 millimeters long, we nail the cut edged board to two meter-long pieces of thick board (driving nails on both sides). We use 10 nails on each side of the tabletop (20 pieces in total: 2 nails in each board on each side).

Under the tabletop, we cut off the protruding corner of the thick transverse boards (to which the front part of the tabletop is attached).

This is such a cute table.

Stage three: working on the design.

To make the table happy even in rainy weather, we paint it with paints of different colors.

So the wonderful table is ready. It will not be blown away by a gust of strong wind, it will not fall on its side if a five-liter pan with kebab is placed on the very edge, and its legs will not crack under the weight of guests dancing on it. Have a nice feast!

    The edges should be slightly rounded. To prevent the child from hitting himself.
